Credit Score at 0

So my head has been in the sand for a few years - living with thousands of pounds of debt hanging around and just ignoring it. Last month I took action and contacted creditors and put payment plans in place. My credit score is at 0 but hey ho at least I have something to work towards. Looking forward to hearing everyone's stories and one day being able to buy a house. :)

  • Your credit score isn't used by lenders when they make lending decisions - you could have a score of 0, 500 or 999 - it doesn't matter.

Had you made any payments to any debts in the last 6 years?

If not some may be statute barred and unenforceable.

Well done on reaching the point where you have started to take action. The good news is that your credit score means nothing. Lenders neither see nor use your credit score.

Why don't you start a Debt-Free Diary over on the DFW Diary board? That way, you can chart your progress and people will chip in with tips and advice.
