Having a problem with the above,the screen keeps on dimming slightly for a few seconds then returning to normal again for another few seconds then again dimming and carries on like this,what could be causing this T.I.A. this is on a laptop.

    Backlight failing , inverter board failing , motherboard fault or possibly cable between motherboard and screen loose or damaged.

    I had a laptop issue where it had a bad power lead connection and was flicking between mains & battery screen brightness settings which were set slightly different
