Debt finance company (DFC)

I recently changed banks so I informed the debt company that deals with my gym membership, I told them that both my membership payments should come out of my new bank account, for the second month I have had to phone them telling them that only one of my payments has been collected , now they are saying I must pay a late payment fee due to one of the payments not been taken , but it's them who haven't set my bank details up correctly, they are now saying they need check phone recordingd to see if I told them that two payments have to come out my new bank account , even though I told them on an email that this was to be the case , should I need to pay this late payment fee ?
