PPI on car insurance

I haven’t been able to find any information on this anywhere.

My first ever car insurance policy (circa 2000) was paid monthly and had PPI on it. The provider was seventeen to forty and I can’t find any trace of them now. I don’t think they would be covered under FCS as they are not a bank.

I did manage to send in a complaint but it was several years ago and I never got a response. I didn’t escalate at the time and I’m pretty sure I threw what paperwork I did have away.

Is there anything I can do?

    No.
If the company has dissolved there's no one to complain to, and it was pre regulation.
