Pointing out that if the bank have no records, you have no records, and you don't even know if you had a PPI policy or not, who it might, or might not have been with, then in all honesty it's a non-starter is just a fact.
What do you think posters should advise?0 -
Truth hurts apparently... but I suppose OP prefers the warm fuzzy feeling they get one someone clueless agrees with everything their say thus raising their hopes in another wide fruitless endeavour0

OP, Please post just one example where someone has been told they don't deserve to get compo.
Not aren't eligible, not don't have a case, not cannot prove it, not out of time for an appeal,
"Don't deserve".0 -
MSE and other consumer groups never want to be seen to put people off. And quite right too. However, things are not always as simple as that. For example, when it came to Plevin, the FCA had a consumer webpage with quite large text but little more than a few paragraphs. However, their official release to companies was about 50 pages of small text. The document contained many of the areas where it would or wouldnt apply. Yet the consumer site didnt contain any of those.
You tend to find this section has a higher number of posts on the things that are less easy or simple because the simple cases go through easily. As there are more unusual or old cases, you get what can appear to be more people likely to fail in a complaint than succeed.
It isnt people being horrible or negative. It is just the nature of the posts that are being made and responded to.0 -
I would obviously disagree with the OP. As has been said above, I and others try and point out facts. Sometimes these will be what you would like to hear, sometimes not.
The facts have been stated so many times on numerous posts, but at the end of the day, you have until the 29th August to make a complaint. How you do this is entirely up to you based on all the facts available to you. Nobody will be able to tell you who you had PPI with. All you can do is ask. Firms will look at each case on an individual basis and will make a decision based on information available.
If you disagree with any decision you can then take it to the Financial Ombudsman within six months.
That is really as simple as I can make itI work in Data Protection and spend my days dealing with CMC's. Only here trying to help!!0
