Is there a supplier out there who understands solar panels?

Hi, just wondering if anyone else has this issue. Currently with EON and when I signed up with them I gave them my annual usage and they split that out monthly to set up my direct debit. The trouble is . . . solar panels!

My contract with them started in an August so I build up a debit through the winter, and then a credit through the summer. They insisted on my paying the debit balance in May, citing the ombudsman as a reason why they couldn't let me build up a large debit. I actually have my FIT tariff with them too!!

Has anyone else experienced this? Are any other suppliers better at this? My current plan is to switch to a not too awful tariff with eon temporarily and then find a better plan in May next year. I'll still have to suck it up and pay the debit but at least then I'll build up a credit with the new supplier before getting into the winter debit. First world problems I know, but I budget quite strictly and can't just double my direct debit out of nowhere when they want me to.

    .

Your FIT payments have no bearing on your issue with EON on your gas/electricity account; you can move the FIT account to another firm.

What Cardew said; you used it, you pay for it. All solar panels do is reduce the amount of electricity you draw from the grid (and earn you a ridiculously inflated FIT paid for by the rest of us) Unless you're on the equator, it is unlikely they generate all the electricity you use. Ours manage about 40% at a guess.
