given the headlines today , I was wondering ;am I able to recieve "family allowance" (or whatever it's called now ! ) for my 19 year old daughter who is at uni ? It stopped being paid once she had completed her A levels.
It would be great to have it back-dated.. ? Thanks. sorry, just remembered, " child benefit " !!!

Child Benefit stops at 16 unless the child stays in full-time education then it's payable till they hit 18.Winnings

No chance. She's at uni now and over 18. No longer available to you.0

Child Benefit can be paid up to age 20 in some circumstances - http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/ccmmanual/CCM18025.htmI no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0

I don't think if she is at uni she will qualify - as it says 'non-advanced' and she would have had to start before she was 19Child Benefit can be paid up to age 20 in some circumstances - http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/ccmmanual/CCM18025.htm0 -
As long as it hasn't stopped for more than 3 months,as this is the dead line to make a claim for the extended child benefit.
I know Im claiming it myself.0 -

Yep, the key is non advanced. This broadly means qualifications up to A Level (and their vocational 'equivalents').
crazyangel, if your child is at university, you need to contact someone ASAP, or you will be end up being stung with a repayment request.
