Daughter at Uni - is address home or uni for car insurance ?

Hi
My daughter is at Uni - the term durations are 3 x 10 weeks pa.
however, she will probably be home for at least three weeks of that, and probably longer as this is Y3 so exams finish early next summer. In other words pretty much 50/50 between the two locations.
I am just renewing HER car insurance (her car and her policy) - so I list her as living away, or at home?
Her younger brother (still at school) is also on the policy which makes me think the home address is more correct?
I am paranoid about not being truthful but equally no point paying more than I need to!
thanks

Is this her own insurance or is she added to yours?
Will she be using the car when away at uni?0 -
This isn't like a dual residency/dual domicile for taxation question where the government insist there is only one answer - it is car insurance - the insurer can be flexible! Call the insurer if you feel that currently they are completely in the dark about how the vehicle is being used, who by and where the vehicle is being is based half the time! They only know what you have told them the risk looks like. Once you have told them and they accept then that's job done, sorted! Otherwise you are gambling with a lot of unknowns.goodadvice12 wrote: »Hi

It's not an issue if you are renewing just your own insurance where she is a named driver (assuming that the car is usually at home,!)0

thanks for the help so far - It is her car and her policy (though parents and brother are named drivers)0

And where will the car be - will she take it to University or not?
If the car will be at Uni 50% of time and Home 50% of time - I'd call the insurance company and ensure this fact was on record for the premium quoted - anything else is just risking the insurer having a wriggle out clause by claiming it was 51% of the time at Uni when you had it insured as being at home (or other way round).0 -

In that case she should inform her insurer that it's usually kept at the uni during term time (if that's the case)0
