Ha ha you'd be very welcome Beanie. My lucky bag contained 2 enormous onions and a humongous lettuce, broad beans, tomatoes, spring onions, a cucumber and some beetroot, more than enough to keep me going for a while. In return I have invited her round for afternoon tea next Tuesday which means I can use the new cup and saucer I bought at the charity shop.
I managed another NSD yesterday which now makes 5 out of the target 1 I set myself of 12 for August. Today would have been but I've been to have my hair cut and love it !! It was reassuring to see the PE and social distancing measures being taken seriously in the salon, how quickly we have become used to them.
It's been a funny old day weather wise here, sort of cloudy and damp, a bit like a sea fret, so I've not done much out of doors. Instead I have been collating everything for my tax return am just about ready to go. I've also made an appointment that I have been putting off so another couple of boxes ticked.
I'm off now into the garage to check on the table before posting it for sale on FB followed by photgraphing the dinner service for the same purpose.
Fingers crossed that I get some interest.
Speak later

ooh yes Savingholmes, she never arrives without something, either veg or baked items.
Well today has been productive so far. I usually have a slow start on Saturdays so I cooked eggs, bake beans and grilled tomatoes for brunch and sat with a cuppa for a bit. The table has now sold so I'll be putting the tea and dinner services on later today to see what happens with them and I have a small, locking filing cabinet that can go too. I decided to only post one thing as a time as it's easier to manage the messages of interest without mixing people up
The man has been to quote for fitting french doors in the living room. I've been wanting them since I moved in but didn't have the spare cash to do it. He's also looked at the soffits and the leaky conservatory neither of which he thinks are major jobs but he is bringing his builder friend round to look in the loft next week to work out a solution to the mould problem. He seems to think that it could be a lack of air flow in the loft. Fingers crossed here that it won't be too expensive but it's sounding positive so far.I'm off to meet friend P this afternoon for a coffee at the garden centre. We keep meeting there as we know that the social distancing is good and we can sit in as the weather is still a bit cool and damp today. There's been no real rain though so the gardens aren't benefitting much and I'm still getting my trusty watering can out but at least the pots are not drying out so quickly.
I've noticed that brambles are ripening locally so plan to go out with a box and pick a few in the morning. I freeze them individually on a baking sheet and then pout into a bog in the freezer so that I can take out a few at a time to put on my porridge or in my yoghurt over the winter. I'll probably ask GD4 if she'd like to come with me, got to teach these youngsters the art of foraging. I think she quite likes doing things with me that are a bit different.
I hope you are all well and planning something pleasant for the weekend.

Well Sunday did't g as planned at all. GD4 went to the Swedish place with her mother to get a unit to put the tv on in her room and I ended up going with my son to look at bikes as he wants to buy one to gt a bit more exercise. After trailing round 3 stores where he couldn't look at any we went back ti his house to peruse the internet. Late I joined the family quiz where for once I didn't come last. Overall a nice relaxing day.
So today we went brambling once the rain had stopped and got quite a haul, mine are already in the freezer. When we got back I showed GD4 how to make dhal and we had some for lunch with flat bread, yummy. After lunch we played a computer game together, and then she tripped off home with a large box of brambles and a pot of dhal.
I later recorded a coaching session with DD2 for her qualification but which was also helpful to me and had a good chat afterwards. I need to spend some time in the morning making a to do list for this week as I haven't got round to it yet and time can seem to evaporate if I'm not careful.
We had a good downpour last night and this morning so the gardens should be less parched. The wet weather brought more birds into the garden to the feeders. I watched the robin and 3 sparrows patiently take it in turns to visit the seed feeder, blackbirds pulling worms from the wet lawn and a jackdaw hanging upside down and swinging on the fat ball cage. They are a joy to watch, and it is hard to believe that only a year ago I was bemoaning the fact that there was so little wildlife in the garden. It just goes to show how easy it is to invite them in.
I'm off to bed now as it's getting late.
goodnight all

The wildlife sound wonderful. My DD has been making a concerted effort To tempt more birds into her garden. She has a large bed feeder on the lawn but also a little feeder that sticks to one of the windows. She sent me a funny photo of a group of sparrows sitting on the windowsill peering through the window at her - very Hitchcockian and shades of 'The Birds!
