No it's not Savingholmes, and I know from experience of counting down to holidays that the day will arrive quicker than I think.
I would normally be finished for the week but I am working Sat & Sun at a weekend workshop. I don't mind as it is different and the students generally get a lot out of it. I've been tasked with doing the shopping for it so by the time I sort out the cash etc. that will take up a chunk of time this today. I also need to make sure that I keep on top of the marking
Friend H's dog is staying for the weekend so at present I'm enjoying lying in bed browsing the DF diaries with 2 pooches fast asleep by my side. Tilly is not allowed to get too close to H's dog as she is a bit of a diva and tries to ignore that she exists. They do seem to sort it out between them though.
I find that I'm waking up more naturally with the lighter mornings and feeling more alert. It makes me wonder if I should consider hibernation in the winter moths. Wouldn't that be lovely and cosy? I'm sure however, I'd feel that I was missing out in some way.
Well I've lots to do so I'll be off. Here's wishing you ll a wonderful (and not soggy) day.

Hope the workshop went well. The weather was reasonable here - some showers but not too bad.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Morning all. The workshop was a great success thanks Savingholmes, though exhausting, we got through loads of work and everybody seemed to take something from it. Anyway I'm not back in until tomorrow lunchtime but do have a fair bit of marking to do before then. My laptop had a hissy fit on Friday and refused to work at all so my plan of action for marking went out of the window. Luckily DS is an IT man and so he sorted it out for me whilst I french plaited DGD4's hair and all is well again now. It's strange how cut off from everything I felt though.
Friend H's dog goes back today, I'll drop her off at lunchtime so the last morning walk with the two of them shortly. They cross from side to side when we're out with me ending up tangled in the leads. How I haven't tripped up yet is a miracle.
W have beautiful sunshine here this morning but rather cold. I may see if I can fit in a little tidying in the garden today. I'm itching to get started have started having a little wander in the morning when I put out the bird food rather than scurrying straight back into the warmth. I love seeing the first signs of growth, is's as if the garden is waking up and stretching. I've also been able to dry most of my laundry outside lately and enjoying which helps with the budgets as well as bringing that lovely fresh smell into the house. Last night I even left the backdoor open for a while to let the dogs wander in and out, the first time this year. Happy days !!
Jobs for today include checking the cupboards and freezer, planning meas for the week and writing a shopping list, walking the dogs and perhaps catching up on some TV drama this evening.
Here's hoping you all have a little sunshine in your day

Yes it does help Savingholmes as sometimes it'd not as big a problem as I think. I thought I may have had a virus but apparently not, it's just good to be able to ask someone who knows what they are talking about.
I have finished employed work for the week but have succumbed to the flu. This has the knock on effect of having to self-isolate for 7 days. I'm not worried as I have felt worse than this when I've had flu the past but it does make me think how often I don't take the time to look after myself when ill. It is usually back to work as so as I can physically manage it. At last I am forced to rest and not worry about being off. I suspect our college will close soon anyway as nearby colleges and universities are closing on a daily basis.
Unfortunately I was going to go grocery shopping this weekend so my son is going to go for me and drop it at the door and I have enough in for a few days to keep me going. One good thing is that I won't be spending much for a week.
Tilly and I are tucked up with paracetamol and a cup of tea and I plan to sleep and catch up on some TV and films and perhaps do some reading. if the weather allows and I feel well enough I may make a start on my garden and I've marking to do if I get bored
Keep well all

Hope you are feeling better soon Dottles. The one positive from the situation - is that we don't have to push through illness the way we would normally - although a lot of places still expect working from home while self-isolating. Fuel costs and pollution will go down. It should be a major boost for the environment.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thank you Beanie and Savingholmes and you're right, it does make me think about how many people have felt obliged to go in to work when they're really not well enough. I'm guessing that there will be an expectation for me to work from home which I will do if I feel well enough but otherwise I am on sick leave.
What strange times we are living in and sad to see so many with the "each for themselves" attitude towards groceries etc. if we are all sensible there will be enough to go round. I do think that the media play it up and make it worse though. None of them mention the individuals who are trying to hep out by checking on the vulnerable. I do hope that something good will come after all this is over and people begin to look after each other again.
I had a window of a couple of hours when my head felt a little clearer today so I am hoping that I may be turning the corner and my body will catch up soon. I am just so exhausted if I try to do anything, even washing the dishes. At least I am up and dressed today, though on the sofa with dog and throw. My DIL and GD4 dropped off some groceries yesterday so I managed to wave from the doorstep as I brought the bags in but GD1 and DD2 have been ringing or face timing daily to chat so I'm not stir crazy just yet.
I'm off to take some more parcetamol
Take care all

Hope you're feeling better soon. (((hugs)))I Believe.....

Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
