Hi,
We are currently trying to buy a house that has solar panels from A Shade Greener. They needed to include an amended clause about repossession, which they have issued and our mortgage provider has finally accepted.
However our sellers solicitor has said it still needs to be registered with the land registry, and hadn't/ doesn't want to give any kind of timescales for how long to expect this to take. Any ideas please?
We're all ready to exchange apart from this to the best of our knowledge, and in a hell of a deadline as we have a little one due in 6 weeks! We also need to give notice on our rental, which we were hoping to do tomorrow, as they would like it in line with our rent date. We expected an overlap of a couple of weeks, but paying rent alongside of the mortgage while on maternity pay is not going to be fun if it's for much longer

They have a massive backlog of months, a rather they did back in February when we were told "September" for our transfer!
There is a Land Registry thread with a rep. If it's holding up a sale then the solicitor can ask to expedite it. Ours took about a month in the end, as there were a couple of queries from the LR, but it can be quicker.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Ask your Solicitor who is insisting on registration prior to exchange.
If Shade Greener have signed a binding deed of variation on the roof lease then this should be acceptable to the Lender (and all parties) with a Solicitor's undertaking to register the deed at Land Registry.0 -
