Fresh Home Insurance ‘HELP’!

Hello I hope someone can help us please. We had home building and contents insurance through Fresh, my husband was concerned that our 1930’s built house was developing lots of cracks and so he wanted them checked out to confirm that it was not Subsidence as it states in your policy that you must make the insurance company aware immediately if you have any concerns.. We were considering getting someone in and paying for it ourselves and only contacting the insurance company if there was an issue but decided to contact them and get their advice. They immediately said they would send someone round to check our property which they did and he said it was all fine and that the cracks were just due to the age of the house and natural movement, he also sent us and the insurance company this information via an email. We have recently contacted Fresh as our insurance is up for renewal... They are saying that because we called them with my husbands concerns it is now down on their system as a LOSS for Subsidence against us!! And now when we try to get a quote no one will cover us for Subsidence! Please can anyone advise us as we are now unable to get full home insurance..?

See if you can reimburse them their outlay on your "claim" if they will remove it from your file.

In future never contact your insurer about any loss you have unless you are certain you are going to make a claim.
