Accepted PPI repayment - can we pursue further?

Some months ago Mum asked for help with reclaiming PPI. I'm just picking this up now with the deadline looming. She has recently contacted barclays and they sent her a letter asking for some documents relating to her products. Shortly after they sent another saying that they didn't need them, and that they would send her a cheque for £1000.
She has paid it into her account and I understand that this action has meant that we are not able to pursue any more repayment. I'm of the opinion that they owe her much more, and this is a ruse to make a small payment to save a much bigger claim coming in.
Is there anything we can now do?
My parents did much of their banking with the Woolwich before it became Barclays. Could we start another claim against Woolwich products to Barclays?

Doesn't matter what your opinion is. Redress is defined. If they asked for her own evidence and didn't receive it, sounds like it was an auto uphold due to no documents available or not enough evidence. She had six months to go to the FOS if she disagreed with their decision.
You can complain about multiple products but only once for each one so you can't complain again about whatever it was she originally complained about.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
So they are obliged to refund the right amount? Maybe I'm a little too cynical then..0

They are obliged to refund the correct amount if there are records.
If there are no records and they can't be bothered contest it, they will auto uphold and refund a general amount.
Either way, if you have no records and they have no records, she was lucky to get anything.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
So to update you. It turns out she used a company to get the refund. What's confusing is that she doesn't know what particular product the refund relates to. Time for more digging methinks...0
