I'm sorry if this shouldn't be in this thread I'm new to posting to the forums.
I'm just after some advice from you clever folk regarding where I legally stand in the following situation. I will try my best to keep brief but include the detail that's relevant.
I purchased a car from a well known dealership on the 12th July 2019. I part exchanged my vehicle and received £8500 for it. On the way home an error message came on the dash regarding cornering lights. I rang the dealership the next day who advised me to take it to their local garage as the one I bought it from was 1 and half hour away.
The local garage couldn't find the fault so advised me to take it to VW which I did. VW then informed me the vehicle had at some point had its life had the entire front end replaced after a crash hence the error message and numerous other errors stored in the cars brain. Also there was 4664 miles missing from the odometer reading.
I phoned the dealership immediately telling them they can have the car back and I will be expecting them to reimburse me for all the money I have put in. I am waiting for a reply from the general area manager.
I just wondered where I legally stood regarding returning the the vehicle and getting my money back. And also regarding the financial agreement I took out on the vehicle. The vehicle itself is only 3 years old.
Sorry for the long read.

I would have thought, assuming it is proven that the car was clocked, you would be entitled to a full refund. They may offer a part refund though if you otherwise want to keep the car.
Could well be the car was over its miles at the end of a PCP / PCH and someone has had it clocked to avoid penalties.0 -
Get a report stating the mileage error from VW,return car to dealer.
That's what I did ,had similar issue with a clocked merc.Official MR B fan club,dont go............................0 -
I'd be less concerned about the clocking, 4000 miles is neither here nor there and could be compensated with some money back.
I'd more concerned about the rebuilt front end. Not necessarily a problem if it's been done properly, but the number of errors suggests that something's not right.
Either return it straight away or get an inspection done to determine how much of an issue it is.0 -

I remember 'back in the day' we took in a Citroen BX GTi. It went into the workshop as the dash was rattling badly and one of the technicians came to us chuckling and showed us the back of the speedo where there was a piece of tape with 'Oh no not again' written on it!'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.
