What do I do in this situation??

Options
Hey guys

Bought a 2nd hand phone on eBay and seller have said they posted and the tracking shows as delivered today at 8.30 am and says Delivered by
Tywyn SUDO

No clue what that means but I’m in Staffordshire and that office sounds like it’s in Wales and I definitely didn’t receive a parcel today also checked with next door and nothing so I assume it’s a scam.

Have contacted seller but I assume he won’t reply I should of checked feedback they have 900 but for buying

What do I do next won’t eBay side with them as it has tracking this is very infuriating!!

The proof of postage which has enabled it to be tracked will show where it was sent to.

The seller may have sent it to the wrong address by the sound of things.

If the seller does not reply to you contact ebay and say you think it has been sent to the wrong address.

I agree, firstly double check your paypal payment and make sure something daft hasn't happened there. Then phone ebay and explain that tracking shows delivery from a delivery office that is nowhere near you.

This is the delivery office that has apparently delivered it https://tywyn.open-closed.co.uk/royal-mail-delivery-office-opening-times-unit-15-16-pendre-industrial-estate

Be persistent, stay calm and just keep trying ebay until they understand what you are talking about. If they want you to open a case, and I suspect they will, then as soon as you open it add all the details about the wrong delivery to the case.

Sellers don't always respond immediately, but due to the cost of this I think I would go ahead and try and sort it even without giving them a chance to respond.

Thank you I don’t think I can open a case until Thursday and the seller used to reply instantly now doesn’t message at all but I can understand if they are at work it may just be a mistake but I assume the worst as the post office is no where near me!

Hopefully eBay will see this and refund but I will remain persistent

Have you phoned eBay as suggested?

Just an update seller checked and saw on the post office receipt that the address was in Wales and said the post office made a
Mistake and refunded me so a good outcome and they say they will claim with Royal Mail.
  • Curious what mistake the post office made because the seller would of surely put the address on the parcel.

I wonder if this was a variation of the 'payday loan' scam. Buyer effectively borrowed your money for a few days somishappy to refund as he is over whatever crisis he needed a loan for.

    Frankly this sounds quite dodgy.

I have no idea unless the post office typed the address in twice as they said they also posted an item to Wales while posting mine. But we got it sorted refund made and they sincerely apologised.
