Hi
I'm with pluset for the phone and broadband. The telephone line is in my name but I'd like to move the telephone line and the cost of running broadband to my mother.
Any idea how it is done?
I ask because is it bt the owns the phone lines? I tried finding the answer on the internet.

OpenReach own the lines and rent them to ISPs.
Key here is your contract with PN when does it expire ?
Pointless moving if you are going to get billed to pay off contract .0 -
What is the reason for wanting to change?
In theory it could be done the same way you would if moving house etc. you would give notice to cancel and your mother would take out a new contract.0 -
It expires tomorrow. I've been trying to renew for two days my line rental with them online and I am getting nowhere, as they are having a system update. I'd have a £30 leaving fee, but it would work out cheaper for the house to put it in my mothers name.OpenReach own the lines and rent them to ISPs.

pearl, usually the line rental and BB cost are bundled - it's almost always cheaper to pay for both rather than separately. If you're planning to stay with PN, use their online chat and explain what you want to do. When I was with them, they were pretty good at sorting stuff out like that. If your contract ends tomorrow, there shouldn't be an exit fee, as you should be able to start any new contract from the end of the existing contract.0
