NHS SAR Request

Hiya

I saw that you can do an SAR request to the NHS to get copies of your records, i thought this would be handy to do in order to have my medical evidence to hand. However on the application form it says "Please note that the information will be presented to you in a spreadsheet format, which will provide you with statistical information on each hospital attendance, rather than any doctors notes or files for each visit"

Have i looked at the wrong thing? Where do i go about submitting a request for copies of my medical records that will have on it my condition, etc etc.

I recently requested copies of my medical records from my GP and i simply filled out a form at reception in the GP surgery. less than 24 hours later my records were available to view online, it's free to receive digital copies but you need to pay for paper ones.

I believe this is a grey area re: charging for paper copies.

    An interesting read:

For the future, if you have a hospital visit, ask for any letters sent to your GP to be copied to you.

Thanks. My GP does charge for paper copies. I do receive all Consultant reports from hospital appointments but wanted to see what else there was on my medical records.

Thank you for your response, sadly my doctors doesn't have any electronic services, it's stuck in the old days so I would not be able to view anything online I don't think. What do you suggest?
