Similar to Homecare 3Jus' tryin' to always entrepreneurably improve ma situation...:rotfl:0 -
I was very disappointed with them. They cancelled the policy after I had made two payments and I only found out when I noticed the direct debit hadn't been taken. Then they couldn't restart it so I had to start a new one at a slightly higher price.
It took months - about 5 if I remember correctly to organise a service. Before you've had a service they can walk away if anything goes wrong - you only have full cover after they have checked it. Then the price went up a great deal for a second year, so I cancelled.0 -
Do they have their own plumbers i.e. work solely for SSE, or do they have a network of local plumbers who come out when they want some extra work?
I'm not sure - as I never needed to call them. My service was done by a big contracting firm 150 miles away, but that may have been because their own local plumbers were busy. All-in-all my experience was a complete shambles.0 -
I am also considering taking out boiler and heating cover with SSE. I have always had British Gas Homecare but they're just too expensive now and will not budge on the price.
I am also keen to hear of people's experience of SSE breakdown cover.0 -
The service used to be excellent but in the last couple of years they outsourced their engineers. Some of the engineers they use are good, others are not so good. Not happy with latest treatment from them when our boiler broke down and they refuse to fix without an expensive (and unnecessary!) power flush, leaving us to call out our own engineer and SSE refusing to refund the cost of the repair. All at the coldest week of the year and despite us indicating that we had a disabled son.Found out that SSE were charged over £300 for the callout despite the engineer not fixing the boiler!Avoid!0
