    Evening :)

3rd NSD of the year. Did use some of my CC credit to buy a Grandad a new duster (wild life he leads!) But he paid me back so it's not technically a spend, more like a balance transfer. But thought I should note it as obviously, will mean my CC credit balance will be lower in future posts!

TT brings the savings pot to £92 this morning :j had a late Christmas gift of £60 so I'm keeping that in my purse to see how long it'll last for food shopping. Which I think I'll have to cave to on Wednesday.

No outside time today as we spent most of it with my grandparents. But I did do a swap, weighted blanket for a kindle fire tablet as O has a few (genuinely) educational apps on my phone which I thought might be better if he had a bigger screen to work on. So no spend there, quite eco conscious I'd say

Spend on the CC credit of £4.36, had a £5 more voucher and needed bread, orange juice, peas and things for the baking cupboard. Os friends weren't very well so didnt head out this morning.

Went to the in laws, Grandma-in-law (is that a thing??) Paid for fish and chips. O and I made crispie treats to take so we didnt turn up empty handed. O got a belated christmas gift we need to get a battery for tomorrow, but we're in town for a party so can pop to a discount shop for one.

Dont know if I mentioned but just to keep a note, we need to put £180 to one side for our insurances this year (due April) and will properly budget this expense along with MOT (due June) for next year.

Tonight's plan is to do a little meal plan and shopping list for Wednesday, will go and do a big shop while O is at nursery. Which reminds me, uniform to iron tomorrow!

    Floodgates have opened!

£1.00 on a drink for O at the party
£9.75 on batteries for his car 😬
£1.00 on muscle rub for DH
£2.73 in Aldi - potatoes and oil

Will be having two NSDs before we do the food shop Wednesday, and will budget it to the cash we have in my purse.

DH also wants to cut our meal plan back to bare minimum. Beans and rice, scorched earth Ramsey style. Obviously O will not be included in this, but as DH and myself could easily lose a stone each it seems like a good a time as any. Will set to work on a meal plan later today to get it all on paper and organised.

Flagging today already. Roast dinner is on the razzle but O was so excited for his friends party today that he woke up from 3-6am ready to go :rotfl: Only have the meal plan and ironing of uniforms on my to do list so it could be way worse. TOMM is really working for us!

    Afternoon!

Back to normal today. O dropped off at nursery full of excitement (has since told his Grandma that while he had a nice time, he's staying at home tomorrow) I'm at work with snacks and hot tea. Didn't have quite the mountain to return to, so that's a relief!

TT of £1.31 today as our gas and electricity was paid. I'm fairly sure we've been with them long enough to qualify for our sign up cash back now but will double check. Have a round £150 in the bank and a funny £57.57 in my purse. Shopping list is ready for Wednesday morning, will definitely have enough to pay cash and leave the bank alone. This should hopefully mean that come payday (Friday) we have £310 to decide what to do with.

Left over roast beef sandwiches and soup for tea tonight. Can't wait!

    NSD #4!

DH paid a bit off his CC so bank is at £140. £300 to send into various pots on Friday. Makes most sense to put it all on the CC, but as I'm in what feels like such a good mindset for paying the loan off I'd like to just put a bit to one side for that.

O is currently very suspicious as his jam has turned from red (strawberry) to orange (apricot). He keeps accusing me of tricking him, trying to get him to eat marmalade and he's adamant that as he's not a bear he does not like marmalade. I tell him it's not marmalade, it's jam.. and the routine starts again. Strawberry jam must not be forgotten on tomorrow's shopping trip. I don't think my sanity could cope if I don't.

NSD yesterday was successful. Cheesy beans on toast for tea tonight, enjoying these meals at the moment but we'll see how long the novelty lasts.

Tomorrow, mixed with the shopping, won't be a NSD as I go to either a soft play or cafe with O and my niece to give my Sister a few hours to study as she's working on her maths degree. In the summer this will flip to a NSD as we can take a picnic to the park. Thursday is also a spending day as we go to a singing group, normally £4 pw but it's £5 this week as one of O's friends is coming too. Group is PAYG over paying in a block which works out better if there's a week we can't go, but messes with my NSD count ;) Still, if my NSDs this year outnumber my SDs by just 1 I'll be happy.

I thought today might never end, I'm exhausted!

    Spends:

    £33.52 in Morrisons
    £1.48 in B&M on the bits I forgot 😅

Very busy day, but feel very content with everything I've managed to squeeze in. Also went into town with my mum and niece this afternoon, I planned to pay for our drinks in a cafe but my mum beat me to it. Went to a local community focused cafe, my drink was 80p and O's was 10p so you really cant complain. They also have a little play kitchen and library to read through while you're there. Will definitely go more often!

Tea was cheese and bacon turn overs with salad and some hm chips. Flapjacks for afters. Empty plates all round!

O's party invites finally arrived but I almost got charged £1.50 postage from RM and all the envelopes for the invites are sealed 😅 so I've emailed to ask if they could possibly send some replacement envelopes out.

Tomorrow is singing group and I'm excited to get back to normal and see everyone. Been about a month since we went!

After the busy-ness of yesterday, I feel at a bit of a loss today
Housework plus extras is done, I've also cleaned the car out and remembered to pack some dungarees I'm passing on to a friend for her daughter. O got two years out of them so let's see how long they last in their new home!

Bank is still at £140 with £12.62 in my purse. My payday is tomorrow, so I think we're doing well to say its january!

    Spends for today

£1 for singing group - Oscar's friends mum insisted on paying the other portion.
£7 - Prebought tickets for a playdate Oscar's got next week

Tomorrow should be a NSD :) plan is to round the savings for the loan up to £100 then we should have enough to pay £130 or so off the credit card.
