CPP - card protection plan

Hi there....
Probably wishful thinking but I was made aware that I was owed money for a card protection plan a few years ago and got around 300 quid back from them. Does anyone think that I may still be able to claim some PPI on this or have I had what I was owed do we think? Also - I have the worst memory ever and may be able to claim PPI on other things I’ve had - I wouldn’t even know where to start - is it worth contacting one of these companies - will they be able to get hold of info I can’t even remember? Sad I know have ab-sol-utely NO long term memory :huh:

You've had your refund on the CPP...that's the end of that.

What other 'things' have you had?

Don't use 'one of these companies', they know nothing about you at all and are just expensive envelope stamp stickers.

If you can remember any companies you borrowed from or used for credit there will more than likely be an online PPI enquiry form that you can fill in on their website.
  • Thanks for your reply. Yes I thought that would be that. As they contacted me initially I just recently started to wonder if it was a separate compensation scheme but wouldn’t expect to get anything else really.
That’s exactly it - I don’t really know what other things I have had! I have done very little borrowing so I guess I’m not owed anything - it’s just all this ramping up of the ads that’s making me wonder, but without two brain cells to rub together it’s why I thought that cyber space might have a better memory of my financial history than I have! :(

It was a compensation scheme. It closed five years ago. It had nothing to do with PPI.

They paid me some money for a set period a while ago.
Then I found out you can claim back to when you first paid the plan but via the bank it was first paid through.
I got paid right back to the start.

The CPP refund scheme covered only the period after regulation in 2005. If you bought CPP prior to 2005, it was still possible to complain about the insurance pre-2005 by complaining to your bank. However, that was five years ago, so any complaint now would likely be time-barred.

    apologies for my late response.

I found out that the original bank or organisation who had set up CPP for you was the one you needed to claim through.

So I sent a request to them, in my case this was Bank of Scotland.

    This was this year.

    Hope this helps
