  • Do they allow lodgers? If you say Airbnb they will think you ar3 lettti g the entire place
  • Not sure about lodgers but usually from what I read if you say lodgers then your mortgage lender may want the lodger to sign something which wouldn't be feasible for every guest.

However, you have a good point about them thinking it would be the whole place even though I'm just thinking of the spare room.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

What do the mortgage conditions actually say? (either for HSBC or Clydesdale)

Have a mortgage with Clydesdale:. Terrible admin, big ( 1/2 inch thick paperwork evidence) complaint, settled but I'd never do business with them again.

    IMHO avoid
  • I can't see anything in my current paperwork that references lodgers or rentals... Where's that info usually held at?

Interesting! Thanks for your reply by the way much appreciated. Besides not being that good is it a no go for allowing their customers to let out a room?

It'll be in the mortgage conditions.
  • Shift it quick to Santander- they don’t seem to mind. Residential mortgage is with them and now on air bnb AND booking .com - ten beds. Yes they were informed but nothing happened. Just keep up payments and yr laughing. Good old Santander!!
