  • Hi,

you say you've got 'a' reading, but if you have electric storage heating then you will need 2 maybe 3 meter readings.

We have storage heaters... I dont mean to sound dim but how do we get these multiple readings? We are a bit confused 😂
  • Hi,

sounds as though you have meter that requires you to push a button to scroll through the different readings.

Have you a picture of meter?

Norman - I've been told otherwise by the company which is why I'm so annoyed. Scottish Power said the £140 is based on previous tennants average usage and will take about 3 months to even out again to our actual usage.

Switch with octopus started 3 weeks ago [No it didn't. You applied to switch an account that isn't yours] and it's been messed up which they have told me is to do with there being an open account for the property [which will be closed when you take the supply over] due to dispute and Money owed. I'm [pointlessly] in contact with someone imat octopus who is emailing me this information
The £140 may be an excessive guestimate but you will only pay for what you use, if you use less than that, money will be retuned to you. Your money will sit in their bank waiting to cover your bills. It does not become their money when you hand it over.

The switch cannot take place before you have a contract with the current supplier, Scottish Power! Its you thats messing it up by trying to switch now.

My friend has a 3 bed house which is only electric... 2 kids on the xbox all day and leaving this on left right and centre and she doesnt even pay £140 bill.
You're not being asked to pay a £140 bill. It a payment which your actual bill will be taken from.
