Halifax "Money Back" Account

Halifax used to issue 'SWITCH' cards but has replaced these with 'VISA' debit cards. I now note that should I use my 'VISA Debit Card' in any outlets on a FRIDAY, Halifax then debits my account on SATURDAY/SUNDAY which is a non Bank working day but does not then pay over such funds to the retailer's Bank until MONDAY (at the earliest) and thus gains extra interest on customers monies in the interim. The 2005 Banking Code says automated debits take 3 working days to collect so why is Halifax debiting accounts earlier than strictly necessary ? I've have posed Halifax such questions but no responses have been provided and is an important consideration for customers who spend £1000's of pounds per transaction to accumulate the maximum £100.00 "cash back" award available on my MoneyBack account. Can any Halifax employee(s) provide a rational explanation for such conduct
which did not arise when the Bank issued customers 'SWITCH' cards to my
certain knowledge. :mad:

I can see your point in principle, but not in practice. It's not as though you're worse off because of this practice.

You spent the money on that day - it goes out of your account...?
