Switching from British Gas/Hive

I’m currently with British Gas and have HIVE & a Smart Meter installed....but have a few more monthly payments yet to pay for Hive installation.
Now my questions are;
1. Can I switch from British Gas to another supplier before I’ve paid my last few monthly Hive payments ?
2. Which other suppliers can use Hive and Smart Meters ?

There is no connection between Hive and a Smart meter - the Hive controls your boiler that's all. BG just happen to be a supplier which offers Hive, your plumber could just have easily installed one.
Ring BG and ask them what happens about billing.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
