    Xmas Saver!
I do understand that credit cards and benefits are not good, but I have a limited amount of money because of my benefits and it is cheaper to shop from sites like Ebay and Amazon and save a considerable amount of money. My son loves Point Horror books and they are not published any more. We could search charity shops and pay 50p upwards or go to Amazon and buy them for 60p including p and p. I can't get second hand for that.

Its just a thought, but if you cant get a Credit card unless the apr is high (30 -50% ), have you thought of getting one of these pre pay credit cards, you top them up and they work in the same basis as a creidt card, that way you could top up what you need and not risk ending up in debt.

As Sunil suggests, try your current bank.

Also, If you just want to spend what you have, you could try to get an Egg Money card - that way you can preload it & spend what you need. It's probably one of the more flexible credit cards.

Credit cards are not all bad, you just need to be careful and keep track of your spending so you dont get into debt.

  • Tried Prime card, but they need a passport or driving licence so I can register it, but I can't find my passport, and don't have a driving licence. Can keep buying a new one, but they cost £3.

Will try Egg card, someone suggested Capital one, will try that as well.

  • Danlaaa, please don't cancel ~Christmas for your kids. There is a giving tree run by social services in some places, there is poundstretcher, Amazon is very cheap, try Haggle.com, Salvation Army sometimes gives gifts as well.
