"GoHenry" type card for elders

Does anyone know of a debit card suitable for someone slightly confused? My elderly mother has been targetted by scammers repeatedly, and I don't feel she is able to manage safely either a credit card or a debit card linked to her bank account. Yet she is still able to sort out her weekly supermarket delivery and do odd bits of personal and gift shopping on line.
I'm looking for a card that can be preloaded with a few hundred pounds, with an individual transaction limit, and where it isn't possible to set up a continuous authority. I don't want to limit her remaining independence, but I need to find a way to protect her.

Have a look at Barclays https://www.barclays.co.uk/current-accounts/debit-cards/card-management/
Alternatively, a prepaid card may be suitable, though you / she would have to pay the loading charges.
I trust you have Power Of Attorney sorted already?0 -
Power of Attorney is underway, though with a bit of a blip.https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=76076684&postcount=608
It is only in course of going through her papers to prepare for managing her money that I've realised she has succumbed to a scam.
I've been looking at the Optimum prepaid card, but that doesn't offer an individual transaction limit. I also don't know if it would allow me to run it from her account via the Power of Attorney.
I have an old bias against Barclays, but barring that it looks as if they may offer what I want. I neither have nor want a smart phone, but if their controls are available through Internet Banking it could work.0 -
Stoodles, I know this is an old thread, but which route did you go down on the card front?0

Would one of Starling's Connected Cards be suitable? It wasn't available when the original thread was postedMatt002 said:Stoodles, I know this is an old thread, but which route did you go down on the card front?

I never reached a conclusion, but things deteriorated quite quickly, so it sadly ceased to be an issue.

I'm sorry for your loss. She's never truly gone so long as she's remembered. Talk about her oftenStoodles said:I never reached a conclusion, but things deteriorated quite quickly, so it sadly ceased to be an issue.
