Bulb don't want monthly readings!

Hi st999
My emails have always said this too but for accurate bills I've found it best to provide readings monthly.0 -
Mine say that too but I send them monthly as I really like knowing exactly where I'm up to with it. Maybe they start out asking for monthly readings until the account is established so that they can make sure the payments are on track to cover it all whereas after the first year you generally know what needs to be paid?Many thanks to everyone who posts competitions and works so hard to provide all the answers!

This is something that bothers me. I also don't like that when you put one through, they don't tell you the balance. Octopus did this. I will be leaving BULB ASAP.0

EDF do this too. I went through a load of grief when I was thinking of switching to them and was told I could not pay by fixed monthly direct debit if I sent meter readings more frequently than once every six months! I could not believe my ears. How irresponsible is that? It actively encourages those who do not monitor their energy accounts as closely as perhaps we MSE-ers do to get into debt.
I never had this problem with nPower and always sent monthly readings, which update their energy tracker in real time but do not generate a bill; I complained about this often and was told, "Most customers don't want frequent bills"... No wonder smart meters are being pushed so hard. They will, however, work out your bill at any time if you contact them and you can call them even when you have an online tariff, unlike EDF. The only reason I switched away is price.
Eon, I'm sure, welcome monthly readings; I just cannot get my online account to behave but am confident that is a technical issue which will resolve itself (or I will know the reason why)0 -
@Smodlet
E.ON allow 52 meter readings per year (so 1 a week) and you can generate a new bill when you added the meter readings. (At least they used to when I was a customer back in 2015)
@st999
Just send Bulb a monthly reading and they will use it if you submit up to 3 days before your billing date. Otherwise they will just estimate your usage. Ignore they friendly advice as it does seem irresponsible (Advice from a soon to be ex-Bulb customer)0
