    Afternoon all,

Not sure why, but I slept until almost noon......really concerned about my lack f energy some days, think I need to get some weight off.....moving a bit more might help, at present I seem to spend too much time on here and knitting......both too sedentary.

Nice and warm here today, have put a piece of bacon to boil and prepped veg and spuds, was going to make a tart but DD1 is making a cake so will leave it to her, if I have any energy I might make something later.

JackieO.,....you never cease to amaze me with your saving ways......the fact that you don't even need to think about it, I try but fall down sometimes......take a bow!

Ginto.....nice that your grandson is enjoying his dad's visit......does they speak Japanese together?

    Hester......enjoy your stay!

Need to go out and rescue some peas before the grandchildren have a forage.

    Enjoy your day.

    Evening all,

Gintot- lovely to hear your DGS is having a wonderful time with Daddy and you are enjoying watching them x
Poppy happy to see you are feeling ok at present & able to do a bit more x

Been horrible weather since yesterday, hardly stopped raining. We went to a family fun day with live music as DH cousins hubbie was playing. The band was playing 2 sessions, late afternoon and then 8-9, we just watched the first lot. At the interval we had a drink together and then ran cousin home, took the car home and decided to nip to our local Italian for a quick bite,DS dropped us off and we walked home.Very nice too.
Called at our friends this afternoon, they were pleased to see us. Cooked a stir fry with chicken and noodles for tea, quick and easy!
Having a quick browse before Poldark, take care all :)

Hi all. Not posted for a very long time, but often drop in and catch up on what’s going on. It’s always so nice to see all the positive support and advice on here. I really enjoy the tips and DH rolls his eyes or sometimes goes pale ;) when I say “ I was just reading.....”. I hope to have a bit more time to do more in the future, both kids are about to fly the nest, one has avidly followed a lot of advice on here and with her BF has bought a house, the others job is taking him 60 miles away so will be flat sharing with his cousin. I’ve tried to instil some MS ways into him too, a lot has fallen on deaf ears but at least he can cook well I on -a budget so all is not lost. It will be the first time in a long time that it’s just been DH and I. Wish me luck. Thoughts to all who need them.

Hi chums and :o meanmarie ,second nature to me now :) unfortunately trying to do too many things today meant I grabbed what I thought was a squeezy tube of garlic and promptly squirted a rather over generous amount of green chilli pepper sauce into my veg and curry powder mix ,so when the veggie curry was cooked it was more than a tad on the hot side ,think off the Richter scale :). but I portioned it up (made five decent sized portions ) and left it to cool whilst at DDs for dinner.

Just got home and thought Hmm I will have to cool it down a bit, even for me it was a bit too hot, and I love spicy food .
Then remembered I had a small pot of plain low fat yogurt in the fridge so spooned some into each portion and mixed thoroughly and hey presto 5 edible portions of veggie curry have just gone into the freezer :)that won't blow my sock off :)it looks and tastes quite creamy so I am very pleased and will have some later this week.

Tomorrow I have ham salad for dinner as the forecast is 24-25c and I have ham and lots of salad stuff to use up .DD gave me a few slices of lovely ham that she had made for dinner tonight so tomorrow's evening meal is sorted

She loved the cinnamon swirls and I costed them out , half a packet of frozen puff pastry (I always cut a packet in half when I freeze it as I can use half a packet for a pie lid or a few sausage rolls and a whole packet is too much when you live on your own.) I rolled out a rectangular square and spread with butter brown sugar and cinnamon mixed together added a sprinkle of sultanas and rolled up like a swiss roll and sliced and added egg mix on the top to glaze and a sprinkle of demerara over each one .cooked in a medium oven until golden brown ,allowed to cool on a wire tray then drizzled thin icing over each one made around 10 and allowing for the bought shop puff pastry and 50 gms of butter and a little brown sugar I think they worked out about 20p each .in the shops they are about 80p+ each .DGS all wolfed them down along with Mum and son-in-law. I'm not much of a cake eater but I was quite happy to make them though.

Eldest DD has a study day tomorrow and as she gets up with her OH at around six, she said she will come for an early breakfast and natter around 7.30 before hitting the books She has been away for a few weeks both working, and at Uni (she is doing a business finance degree to add to the one she has ,her firm are paying for it so she thought why not :)) It will be nice to have a catch-up.

Right time to hit the hay

Have a good week chums and keep cool if you can

    JackieO xx
