Hi Everyone!

I'm looking to buy a 2017 Seat Ibiza SE Technology trim with a 1.0 TSi engince and 94bhp for £6200. I'm reasonably sure that the one I've seen is the 4th generation and not the 5th (latest). Will this affect depreciation a lot?:huh:

Also, I'd like to know if you know of any common/known problems or issues that Ibiza's have that I should be on the lookout for. :undecided:naughty:

And any alternatives that are in my budget (£6k target - £6.5k stretching) would be good too.

(My requirements for a car: reliable, cheap to run & maintain, up to 3 yrs old, A/C, cruise control, touch screen, Bluetooth, 0-60mph in under 11s, look good. Extras I like are heated seats, android auto, start/stop technology)

Thanks in advance for your help! Cheers!

Seems quite active, you should get a few replies.

Ibiza Mk5 place for everything there is to know about the Mk5 Ibiza. 2008 - 2017

Are you sure it is 4th generation?

My son has a 15 plate Ibiza FR 1.2. He loves it , has had it 2 years, the only issue he has had is the AC making a noise and not working properly ( not sorted yet), if you go to the forum suggested you will find that’s quite common

Edit, 2017 is the year the new shape came out so could be either. But the price is wrong. Most on autotrader are £8000 plus for a 2017 car, why is the one you are looking at only £6000

They are nice cars. With good quality tyres they stick to the road no matter how hard you push it. Can't comment on that engine as mine is the 1.6 they no longer produce. Personally I would want a little more than 94 bhp but that's just me.

Only downsides are there can be a fair amount of road noise intrusion and the often have odd creaks when cornering due to body flex. My front passenger door makes odd noises on occasions.

Noisy AC can sometimes be a worn idler pulley on the aux belt. Part costs about £12.

It’s noisy and doesn’t blow cold air, it’s years since I have got my hands dirty on a car, but if you can tell me more I am willing to have a go
  • There may be some boot pump problems, so I would check that. But the turbo seems excellent on these, it is automatically adjusting....so it will only kick in with super unleaded 98 which is quite cool.

That sounds unlikely, why would a car be designed to underperform on standard fuel? Do you have a source?

So turbo doesn't work with normal unleaded?

    What a load of twaddle.

And what's a boot pump?...is it something Kim Kardashian has had done?
