My father has been scammed of his life savings

sounds like a recurring debit card payment very hard to cancel once set up.......a favorite of dubious companies0

My advice is to do exactly as the people on Mumsnet have told you.
Stop getting enraged with Lloyds. If they had checked with your father, he would have authorised the transactions. The people to get angry with are the Lottery Centre.
So when you contact the Vulnerable Customers team at Lloyds, be calm and factual. Don't go in all guns blazing and trying to apportion blame - you catch more flies with honey than you do vinegar.0 -

I have no intention of going in guns blazing
I am actually a very calm and rational person
I’m just venting online because I can’t do this in real life0 -
Report it to Action Fraud and see what they say. It might not be fraud but they'll be able to advise https://www.actionfraud.police.uk0

Maybe 10 years ago, but now it's easy. See https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/recurring-payments/couriervanman wrote: »sounds like a recurring debit card payment very hard to cancel once set up.......a favorite of dubious companies0 -
As well as pursuing this, please get him to sort out an LPA without delay.0

This is no longer the case. You can call your bank to withdraw your authority, and since the FCA got involved, they have to stop the continuous payment authority immediately and are liable for any payments they make after the date you cancel the authority. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -
I would suggest you find a solicitor on the IoM who can advise you whether you have any basis on which your father can sue the company, and what the costs might be.
If there is potential to sue, and the costs are feasible - you might have to help with these - then you need to research everything you can find out about the company, but especially addresses, directors and their addresses. Then start a court case. The comments I post are my personal opinion.
