Selling books,dvd's and Games

I'm moving home and need a quick way to get rid of my books, dvd's and games we don't really need anymore, its too time consuming to use Ebay, but it would be nice to get a few quid back.

I know there are all sorts of apps/websites where you can just scan them all, but which one is the best and most cost effective in terms of money I will need to put out to sell or post?

Thanks,

As far as dvds & books go, unless there is something very rare & sought after you'd be lucky to get pennies. I buy most of my books from charity shops that sell them at 49p each. One animal rescue shop sells 8 for £1.

Pretty much the same with dvds, most charity shops sell at 50p each & some at 3 for £1.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Games often sell well on Facebook if priced sensibly.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I agree, try the games on facebook, but I suspect you will have to donate DVDs and books to a charity shop- although be aware that a lot of charity shops no longer accept books.

  • Yes DVDs are so cheap in charity shops now, one near me sells at 25p each.

I use Ziffit mainly, although WeBuyBooks is also good.

You can also try FatBrain, AbeBooks, MusicMagpie and Zapper which all accept these kinds of items. I have sold to them all at some point.

Last time I used Music Magpie they were good. Obviously didn't get as much as if I'd sold everything separately, but the payment was quick and the courier even collected my boxed up items from home. No faffing around going to the post office etc.

    +1

Webuybooks (they buy games and dvds too), MusicMagpie, Zapper, Abebooks etc.

I put everything in a pile, have multiple windows open and they try each one and see who is best for that item. I end up with maybe 4 or 5 packages to post off to the respective companies.

Prices can vary by a vast amount so well worth checking each for each item.

I tried three recently. I scanned everything I had to get rid of to compare the prices and sent stuff off to Ziffit, CEX and Musicmagpie.

Ziffit were the quickest to send payment followed by Musicmagpie and finally CEX.

Both Ziffit and CEX honoured what they had quoted online however Musicmagpie revised there offer as they claimed artwork was damaged (strangely it was the highest value item in the parcel and was not damaged as far as I could tell but unfortunately I had not taken a photo).
