Marcus new bonus rate

Just renewed mine on Monday, so locked in for another 12 months.
I suspect it will change again more than once in the coming year.0 -
Marcus just got wise to us renewing the bonus rate period each time we log in...
New bonus rate available has dropped from 0.15% to 0.1%
If you renew, your interest rate immediately drops.0 -
Yes I suspect the drop in bonus rate is more about trying to stop people renewing every 5 minutes rather than a desire to drop the rate per se.0
-
Well the rate has dropped for new customers to 1.45% too0
-
Luckily I renewed mine on Sunday, even though it wasn't due to end until next month.0
-
The reduction may have more to do with the outlook for interest rates than a handful of customers renewing too frequently. After all, they could limit the rate of renewals if that's what they really wanted.
Renewed mine on Saturday, so I'm glad I caught the end of the 0.15% bonus.0 -
I renewed mine to August next year thanks to original poster, otherwise would have reduced next month."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0
-
Missed it, oh well.0
-
It's only 50p per £1000 saved so I wouldn't worry over it.0

Weird. Had a phone call from Marcus asking if I was related to a Lord of the house by the name of Donald Michael Ellison. I've no idea who he is and when I asked about the nature of the enquiry they said it was protocol to ask about relations to peers. Pretty sure they would have worked out that I wasn't from my postcode in all honesty. And if I was a relation of his, I'd probably have a hedge fund, rather than a 1.5% account with them!0
