Tesco Highview appeal and complaint failed

I’ve read the newbies sticky note, and still feel like my case is different and need some help please.
The main trouble is I appealed before reading this forum and didn’t know that I was not supposed to tick “I’m a driver”. Yes I was too honest and silly to tick Yes.
The next complication is that the shopping on that day was not scanned on Clubcard, and the receipt went in the bin already. Topping up with the reason for overstaying that my car didn’t start, so I fixed the problem myself with the help of fellow customer but HV were demanding for breakdown report from the third party mechanic repairer.
After the unsuccessful appeal, I came to this forum and noted that I should write to the CEO - so I did. But it appears that the email was forwarded to customer service. Then they were demanding for same evidence again, eg breakdown report which I didn’t have. And despite my Clubcard doesn’t show the transaction of that day but I was a regular at their branch for quite some time, but they don’t seem to care. So customer service refused to help, and I wrote to CEO the 2nd time. Of course, it was forwarded to CS again and got refused again.
Now it has already passed the grace period of 14 days for discounted £20, and I just recently received the first reminder from HV and it’s now £70.
Any suggestions to my case? Does it look like I’m in the lose already and shall I just pay it? Bearing in mind that I already naively admitted that I was the driver.
Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for your help.

Try making a nuisance of yourself in the store. Tell the store manager unless it's cancelled you will never shop there again. Go in and do it face to face.
Also try social media such as twitter and Facebook0 -
How long ago did it happen ?
If you know the time or a rough time eg between 11 and 12 Im sure you could ask Tesco if they have you on cctv, might not prove what you say the car not starting.
Speak to the store manager, see if they can access the cctv and confirm you did shop there, appeal to his better nature and ask him to get onto HV and cancel the £70 HV are wanting.0 -
If you used a card to pay show them the transaction on your statement0

TESCO support the parking scammers, that has been clear for a long time. Even with a clubcard they hate you ???
Spend your club card points and get the hell miles away from this customer hating retailer.
The game is now on, you wait and DO NOT PAY.
The next silly game they play is to try to scare you with debt collectors who you totally ignore, bunch of idiots

If it does go to court (and that's no problem), you can swear on oath what happened .... that is something that HV cannot do as they cannot prove you did not breakdown ???
In the meantime, avoid Tesco, it is now because of them that you will get grief. Make sure you warn your friends and family that TESCO has no respect for customers0 -
but HV were demanding for breakdown report from the third party mechanic repairer.
Let them take you to court. A judge is likely to believe you.
Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so complain to your MP.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
It won't help you this time, but earlier this year I had a problem starting my car in a Tesco car park after shopping there and I knew it would be several hours before I could get my car moved.
I spoke to someone on the Customer Services Desk who put my reg no into a terminal on the desk.
"You now have permission to stay on the car park for 24 hours" she said. Continuing "if that's not enough, come back and speak to me again".
The moral is - if you find yourself in this situation again, ask for help at the time.0 -
Thanks Keith. It was one of the questions they tried to get out of me too. But it that situation my first priority was to get the car running. I didn't think about their precious time limit and didn't think that the customer service would be help things like this. And it happened to this car for the first time so I wasn't prepared for how long it would've taken.
I guess I'll try to go in and speak to them f2f like human being first, because so far it's just phone calls and emails. Hopefully the branch manager will be more sensible than their customer service.
Anyway, on this experience it seems the trick of emailing the CEO is no longer valid then ...0 -
it never was in the case of tesco and the CEO Mr Lewis , he is oblivious to how his company is alienating customers with these stupid policies
it doesnt mean it wont work in other businesses0
