it does sound like the OP's trying to used their NCD entitlement on both policies to bring the price down, which of course is a no no.

Maybe not. When I bought a second car my insurers were happy to extend the no claim bonus on my main car to the second car as well. I suppose they realised that I could not be driving them both at the same time!
But the OP has taken out a separate policy for the second car, possibly with a different insurer, so I'd doubt this is the same.
  • Hi, thanks no not using no claims on the new insurance I’m taking out, fortunately customer service on existing provider mentioned that to me.
  • I’ve been totally upfront and honest with both insurers , ncd on new car ( transferred existing insurance to it yesterday) and a new policy with no ncd and admitting 2nd car. These are old wee cars hence the small premium. Cheers for help

Really? You’ve told the new one you plan to cancel within 14 days?

    OP what is the car.

Garages are never going to give you a top price for a trade in, they have to make a profit and buying any car is a gamble as they may have to put it through an auction.

Have WBAC seen it and offered you 3600 or is that an online valuation. If so it may have been a good idea to accept, if they haven’t then they probably wouldn’t pay anything like that.

Selling privately has so many pitfalls these days
