On full PIP and carers come in 3 times daily

A friend is on enhanced PIP for daily living and mobility, receiving palliative care. She lives alone, is housebound, on home oxygen and has carers who come in 3 times every day.

She has an adult nephew who has just lost his mum (her sister) and wants to come to stay with her for a week.

Will she get into trouble with DWP if she allows this?

No, people on benefits are allowed to have visitors to stay.

And PIP is not a mean stead- benefit if he were to live with her, though other things like Council Tax might be affected.

I do not have a good memory lately but I believe? if you are in receipt of PIP and do get a council tax reduction it is not changed due to someone coming to live with you, other benefits may be as I have no idea of means tested benefits.

You are correct, there are no non-dependant deductions in Council Tax Reduction or Housing benefit if the claimant is in receipt of daily Living part of PIP.

However someone visiting for a week would make no difference anyway as they do not normally reside with the claimant.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.
