my current fixed 12 month runs out on 26 Aug with Avro Energy, found a great deal on the Cheap Energy Club on here with Bulb, should i progress the switch now, or wait til a week beofre my contract ends?
Dont want to be too keen, then end up being charged an early leaving fee?

    You should already have had an email from Avro - 45-49 days before your fix runs out.

    You can switch now or take a chance something better will come along. Make sure you are using your ACTUAL consumption in kwh.
    Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

    N.B.
    Avro = ‘fixed tariff’.
    Bulb = ‘variable tariff’.

    And how much money are the MSE Club paying you ?

    Just asking as Bulb only have 1 tariff and they offer £50 referral fees direct to you (Look at the MSE forum referrals board for a link)

    I also suggest when comparing tariffs that's it useful to check the actual unit tariffs for both gas and electricity charges compared to other providers that may be slightly more expensive on first look. I always do a 'what if' check, on top of using actual consumption, by re-running the figures with 10% higher gas use, 10% higher electric and/or 10% higher on both. (I usually knock together a spreadsheet for this though but then I'm sad like that :rotfl:). This is to see what would happen if we say had a harsh winter and your consumption shot up. Can be quite revealing especially if like us your gas consumption is quite large.

    Good advice. I also run dual fuel & separate supplier comparisons for those scenarios too. And if you have an Economy 7 meter, repeat them all for E7 and non E7 tariffs.

    I too have a spreadsheet that shows me all the combinations of tariffs that look most appealing and can then just change the kWhr figures to see the impact of consumption changes.

    Did your supplier not include any indication of what tariff you can now chose from them as your current deal is coming to an end???

    If you do decide to switch to Bulb, there is a special offer at the moment that ends today at midnight where you get £75 referral credit instead of the normal £50.

    Some generous (and longstanding) MSErs are offering up to an extra £35 on top, see this thread...
