We have a small a crack in our white enamel / ceramic (not sure of the difference) bath. Between one and two inches. Has anyone any experience of using the DIY repair kits as a professional repair seems really expdnsive?

If you mean a crack right through the bath, then its very unlikely a permanent repair can be made.
If you mean a chip in the enamelled surface, it can probably be repaired.
My experience of repair kits is that they are OK for about six months, then the chip reappears.
A proper repair costs around £200, takes 2 to 3 hours, and will last for years.
Your bath is most unlikely to be ceramic. It could be steel or cast iron with a stove enamelled finish, or it could be fibreglass / acrylic.0 -
Enamel chip can be touched up with car paint and will last many years.0

Yes, a proper repair would be £150 normally. We used Superior Bath repair for a small crack in our sink once. Not sure if they are still around. The DIY kits are cheaper but not sure if they last.0
