No stopping zones, private parking firm

Hi all,

I have a quick question about no stopping zones in areas managed by private parking firms.

What in their eyes and more importantly in the laws eyes would stopping actually be? For example turning around your car and waiting for it to be clear to move? Someone jumping out of the car?

How are they actually meant to prove what stopping actually consists and how long someone would need to stop?

Thanks all!

Allowing someone to alight does require the vehicle to stop!

I appreciate allowing someone to alight means stopping, but what I'm asking is how can they differentiate someone stopping to let traffic pass etc and someone alighting? The signs don't differentiate.

As far as I'm aware with parking charges there tends to be a grace period doesn't there?
