How can I get Tiscali off my back?

Hi
Switched from Tiscali in August this year, via mac code system. Rung up
Tiscali to get a full and final payment statement off them, as we had been with them along time we got our bills through the post and email not by direct debit. Paid that bill by phone, but we keep getting bills from them for the remainder of August and every month up to now. Now they are threatening us with the bailiff's. Have used their joke customer care line number but having sat with my phone plugged to my ear for 20 minutes (X2) just to have it time out and pay for the privilege have give up on that. Plus I suspect if I did get thru, I doubt anything will change as all you will get is a call centre person with no authority or inclination to do anything about the situation. Does anyone know an address and a persons name at Tiscali who I can write to to get something done about this? Can I seek legal redress off them if they keep hassling us, we are worried to answer the door now in case a couple of bailiff's are on our doorstep. Any other suggestions please that don't include violence?!!!!!!

Tiscali bills in arrears. Are you sure you don't need to pay the remainder of August?
Otherwise there's:
Tiscali Customer Services
PO BOX 7206
Milton Keynes
MK14 6XG.

First read your old contract and check:
a. you passed the 12 month period
b. you give Tiscali enough notice to get out of the contract
otherwise you will be liable to pay them for this.
Secondly send all letters to them via recorded delivery. list the previous times you contacted them on the telephone in the letter and tell the company in the letter you will take further action including court action if they continue to send you threatening letters for their breach of contract.
If you don't use recorded delivery you will find that the company will deny receiving your letter even if it was to a PO Box. However even if the letter was sent by recorded delivery and not received no court or regulator will believe the company didn't receive them.
Thirdly Tiscali's head office address is:
20 Broadwick Street, London, W1F 8HT
Fourthly if Tiscali still hassle you after you have sent the letter either send them a "letter before action" telling them you are going to take them to court in 28 days for refusing to allow you to cancel your contract after you have fulfilled all the terms in it and they will be liable for cost OR you need to take them to the regulator. (Court action is quicker but will cost you money.)
Finally in future if you have a problem with a company you can write to their head office address which can be found on the company website.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

I'd advise telling them the bill is in dispute and making sure that they aren't entering any of these details on your credit file.0

Update....finnaly got through to someone, he gave a reference number to waive at anyone who comes near us with a bill, admitted to us at least we don't owe them any money and it was a breakdown in communication between 2 departments, we shall see if the threatening letters desist.
Thanks Olly for your post.0
