I don’t use my Virgin phone landline at all. Should I get rid of it and save the money? I’m just thinking how this would effect my credit rating and my ability to borrow.
Do you keep your landline even though you don’t use it?? Why???

You may find it makes no difference to the cost of your package. It one of those things for virgin that it costs them next to nothing to provide, and they might make a small amount on any calls you make, so it is to all ends and purposes free.
You can always ask, you might get a couple of quid off.
I haven used a landline phone in the house for well over 10 years.0 -

It won't effect your credit rating as you will already have one.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
As duggan1 said, it will probably make zero difference to your costs. Indeed Virgin may increase the broadband price if you remove the phone element as you have reduced their opportunity to make a profit from you. Stranger things do happen.0

I doubt you would save anything from getting rid of the landline, it may actually cost you more!0

When I had VM, removing the landline from my subscription would've increased the monthly cost.
I used to use it as a fax/voicemail number, for giving out to randomers who wanted a landline to spam (sorry tele market!!) you.0 -
Unless it saves you money and you switch to a non supplier dependent VoIP number from sipgate (or similar ) then I don't see the pointEx forum ambassador

We kept our landline when we switched to VM , but then we do use it a lot for geographical calling. Free calls, and we get no spam calls either on it, unlike my mobile which I now switch off at home (despite TPSing it). When I looked at VM contracts without the phone line, it was more expensive than it was to pay for it with anytime calls. Maybe your ISP has to contribute to Openreach costs of maintaining the phone ine system?0

£9 per month saving here dropping the landline from Virgin contract. Just signed up with Sipgate for free incoming calls with a local STD number provided. You can port your own number to SIP but Sipgate will charge £30 to do that. Outgoing calls are charged at something like 1.8p per minute or you can get an inclusive landline calls package for £9 per month, which would still be a saving on Virgin as Virgin charge for calls as well as for the line rental.0
