Check your EDF bills !
Like many regulars on this forum, I monitor the energy bills of family & friends
Just examined an Electric bill that covers 93 days, but it listed only 2 D/Debit payments being credited to the account over the billing period, which took the account balance from it's usual small credit status into Debt
Checked with customers bank account, and 3 payments were taken over the period with the 3rd even listed on EDF's own website
This obviously I can sort out with EDF, but I doubt this is a clerical error and more likely down to a software glitch in which case the problem will affect more than this particular account.
CHECK BILLS issued from the start of the year

is it not a case that the bill was produced before the DD was taken out ?0

NO
The billing period covered is March 19th 2019 to 10th June 2019 - The D/D's were being on the 15th of the month.
The bill lists receipt of the D/D's for March & April, but does not list the one for May, even though the customers bank account shows it being taken and EDF's own web site shows it's receipt.
However this error has resulted in a bill, which is a legal document, on which the final total is pure fiction.
Just suppose for a moment that this was a customer in dire straights who's D/Ds were failing for lack of funds - then on the strength of this bill presented at court it would result a Court Order allowing forced entry and the fitting of a PAYGO meter with all the extra costs added to the customer s debt.
I repeat - check your EDF bills from the beginning of the year to see that every D/D paid out by your bank has been recorded on the billing0
