Rejecting a second hand car

Hi, I bought a car, found out it has been flood damaged and rejected it requesting a full refund, with a recorded delivery letter, within 6 days of purchase. Two days after receiving the letter the dealer said they need a few days to collect it and the very same night someone came around my house and scratched the whole car with a key. I repaired the vehicle and tried to return it but they weren't happy with the repair and refused to refund. I repaired the vehicle again but again they refused to refund me. I asked for a partial refund which was also refused and was told they will see me in court. I was told by Consumer Advice that after rejecting goods, you need to provide a reasonable duty of care until they are collected by the seller, and having the car parked on a private driveway in front of the house is reasonable enough and that I shouldn't have even repaired it in the first place. Can anyone please give any advice or let me know if this is accurate. Who is the legal owner of the rejected goods and ultimately responsible for them. Will need this for the Small Claims Court Case I have started. Thank You beforehand!

Well all the process has started rather quickly?
If you mean the car was categorised and purchased with the buyers knowledge then you may have a case, the rest of your story appears to be buyers remorse and loser's luck, so doesn't read as if you are going to get much success in your favour.0 -
This page at resolver seems to suggest that only if you have been negligent would you be liable for any damage. https://www.resolver.co.uk/consumer-rights/vehicles-car-damaged-complaints
If you have repaired the damage to a high standard, the dealer should not be able to use this as a basis to refuse to provide a full refund, if you were entitled to a full refund before the damage.
I'm curious as to the basis on which you feel you can return the car?The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -
Sounds like the dealer sent someone round to make sure you couldn't return it.0
