I have a letter from my council confirming that I am registered on to the electoral roll however when I try to obtain my credit rating, I am unable to.
I have tried MSE’s Credit Club and Experian however they both failed. I signed up to Equifax and managed to get a report which stated that I was not registered on the electoral roll.
I contacted my local council and they confirmed that I was registered and that they have informed all of the credit agencies. Within the last year I have moved to a new property and I have a mortgage.
Can anyone advise what I should do or who I can contact? I am trying to remortgage and sign to a new credit card but worried I might struggle.
Thanks

According to Experian UK, if I understand what they say, you may be waiting a while.Once you’ve registered to vote, your electoral details should automatically appear on your credit report within 30 days. However, there are a few exceptions:
You registered to vote during the annual canvass. This is when councils contact you to confirm or update your voter details, via a Household Enquiry Form. It usually runs from August to November. If you registered during this time, your electoral details should appear on your report from 1 December. This is because local councils don’t update the electoral roll during the annual canvas, meaning credit reference agencies like Experian don’t receive the data.I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
