Why dodgy? The parties are avoiding conflict of interest by each having his/her own solicitor working out of separate offices even though within the same firm?0 -
Good advice guys. I have been offered the property. The fella got the property before he met his gf and they have kids together so been with her for a long time but they are not on speaking terms for a while now. She won't move out so his got a property on rent and moved in there with the kids. He was selling it off cheap but I didn't want the hassle so his now offered it to a mate. I'm confused, who is buying it, you or a mate? Are you the "mate" ????
Its up to the buyer who they use for their legals, they are under no obligation to use one the sellers suggested.
The buyer should not sign anything and absolutely should not exchange until she's out, her possessions gone, and locks changed. Seller should be doing that not buyer. Buyer has no legal standing to do anything like that.0 -
gf may well have valid legal "beneficial interest" in the value of the property or rights to live there. Hope she is reading this thread0
