Age redundancy?

Asking out of curiosity as some people at work are at risk of redundancy, I am not but started to wonder, now you cannot be made to retire what happens if you are in receipt of State Pension, can you still get a redundancy payment or if you are a few months away from State Pension can you get redundancy payment? I am also not now a Civil Servant but I thought I had read (not sure how old the item was) that if you are 60 you did not get a payment, is this still true?

October 2006 saw removal of the upper age limit for redundancy payments. It's not about whether you are in receipt of a state pension or not: it's about your employment.0
