Fridge freezer frosting up door seal faulty

I don't know if the two are connected, but the fridge part of our Bosch fridge/freezer has started to frost up badly in the fridge section. The door seal seems to be pretty knackered, so could this be the cause? I think they are about £28 to replace.

Probably, though have you checked if anything is touching the back of the fridge? Plenty of advice online too, e.g., https://www.wikihow.com/Stop-a-Fridge-from-Ice-Build-Up
And pretty rubbish advice at that - "A freezer doesn't need to be set much cooler than 32℉ (0℃)", complete nonsense, a freezer should be set to at least 0F, -18C to safely keep food frozen.

I would have to agree with that, the secret is the word "freeze".;)

Another reason for ice to form where ice shouldn't be is low refrigerant level, but hopefully it's just the seal.

TBH, I've got a new Beko FF and I still get the odd bit of ice on the back of the fridge.

Well spending £28 is a lot less than a new fridge/freezer and i know this is a money saving site but the amount we are talking a about is couple of rounds in a decent pub so what have you got to loose.

It looks as though I cannot get a new seal for my fridge freezer, so has anyone used a universal seal which you have to cut to size, and if so, how easy was it to fit?

I'm very surprised you can't get a new seal for your Bosch fridge/freezer. What's the model number of the fridge/freezer?
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

How exactly is the existing seal knackered?
Have you been around the door with a strip of paper to see if the seal grabs it with the door closed?

Done all that and it doen't grip. The seal is split from top to bottom and coming away in places.
