Vets help

Took my elderly dog to vets and was given Metacam for an infection near the end of course she started being wobbly on feet but more worrying panting heavily. I took her vets and pointed out these are some of the side affects from medics but vet says she has fluid on the lung and a heart problem and wants £600-700 to treat her which I don’t have any advice

  • Assuming you have no relevant insurance cover, borrow the money, sell something and ask if they do a payment plan.
Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid

  • Second opinion or you let your pet die natually.

No doubt I'll be called heartless because I didn't get to chose pts but if you haven't the income what are you to do. C!#!t I've had enough on here about people who second guess what life must be like.

I didn't even know you could call in the people at the pet crematoriums direct. So many vets after an adoption through one of the cat charities over 10 years ago couldn't tell me how old my rags really was.

Get a second opinion if you do not trust your vet 100%, then take one of the actions quoted. At the very worst, if treatment will not increase life expectancy or quality of life considerably, let your dog be PTS now, certainly don't allow her to suffer a long and distressing death.
    It's not difficult!
