Wavendon Gate, Milton Keynes, opinions?

Have a potential house to rent in this area, been there a few times at the weekend, seems very quiet.
However have read elsewhere the shops at walnut tree, which are a.5min walk away and would be our local go to for essentials are to be avoided as the local teenagers hang around there, and there are not so nice parts of walnut?
If it's just a few kids gathering in the evenings, I'm not bothered and we have worse here but it depends if they are intimidating or causing problems

Has anyone lived in wavendon gate/walnut tree and can tell me what is like in the evenings/during the week.
I have a 16yr old and 12yr old who will be out and about with friends alot, we are currently in hayes in west London, so has to be better surely?
Is there plenty for them to do so they stay away from trouble?

I have been wanting to move for a good few years and been unable to due to financial constraints, this opportunity has come up but with the kids at the ages they are now i want to make sure it's worth the upheaval and they will be happier.

Also I would be moving to a smaller home, so the area needs to be good to compensate for that, what do you think?

Wavendon Gate is a nice area and had a good school there. Walnut Tree is a little older but also quite popular. Its surrounded by lots of parks and walks close by.

I drive past Walnut Tree shops quite a bit, and have never seen a huge problem with teenagers outside the shops.

Thanks, I'm getting a few mixed opinions on Milton Keynes, but this area seems to get a good word.
I'm sure it's better than where I am currently (west london) I'm just hoping it is going to be worth the big move! I'm on my own with two kids and they have lived here all their lives so it's a bit daunting, I thibk I'm going to get The contracts signed this weekend, hope I'm doing the right thing!

I've heard the Walnut Tree kids are a pain in the rear.
Played cricket at Walnut Tree last year and the pavilion had been vandalised to the point of being unusable.
The pub in Walnut Tree is also large and was full after the game, but atmosphere was dubious.

Mind you travel a mile in a different direction in MK and there's a very nice area with a great pub.

Milton Keynes is amazing. A city in a forest....
