Chimney Removal

I’m thinking about having chimney removed. It’s not the main chimney (my house is a semi) but a chimney in the dining room/one of the back bedrooms. I live in the SW
Option 1 – Complete Removal is £3290.00 + VAT
Option 2 – Ground Floor Chimney Removal
The supply of structural engineer’s calculationsThe propping of chimney The removal of chimney from ground floor ceiling to floor level and disposing of to skip
The supply and fitting of steel work to support remaining chimney as per structural engineer’s calculationsAt a cost of £2968.00 + VAT

If you are removing the chimney breast on the ground floor, might as well take out the one in the bedroom at the same time. Cost is marginally higher.. You'll still need the SE calculations and building control approval regardless of which option you go for.Her courage will change the world.
