  • Good morning everyone!

Hugs to those who need them, happy birthday to those celebrating! :j

It's already super warm over here ... 31°C and it will get hotter. I'm definitely not leaving the house unless I really have to :D

We did go thrifting yesterday but I found NOTHING. Like I said it's for reselling only but still :o Then again, I didn't spend money on something that might stay in my house for a long time until it gets sold :T Saved me a few bucks!

As for canceling my gym membership ... my OH will take that contract to work with him to talk to other lawyers just to see what wording would be best to cancel it :rotfl:

I don't have anything specially planned today ... maybe finally finishing reading a book that I started 2 weeks ago :o

Hope all of you have a good day! <3

    Morning all,
Just got back from taking DGD to her swimming lesson, this week she's having one everyday in a slightly smaller group. The viewing area was unbearably hot.She hasnt stayed as she's visiting her cousin for his 3rd birthday. My gran duties haven't finished yet though,DGS is on a football day so he needs picking up this afternoon and he'll stay tonight as usual, but at least the sports centre is nearer to us than school is. More swimming tomorrow morning so I'm not sure if he'll come to watch or we'll drop him off at home on the way.

RR, oh I do sympathize re the heat - I had my oven on for less than an hour doing my sourdough yesterday afternoon and that was quite enough  . Usually our stone house is cool in summer but it wasnt yesterday.I had earplugs in last night to combat DH snoring so thankfully the thunder didnt wake me.
I've just got some burgers out for tea,we can have salad and the men can have some chips if they want.
Right hope you all have a good day x

Morning all! The air conditioning doesn't work in my car so i had a very hot journey yesterday despite the windows being open. Apparently I can look forward to probably two years before I'm fully normal again. Nice to be told like it is for a change and without any woolly language.
It was so hot yesterday i had a cold shower when I got home, about half ten,cos of necessity though because there was no not water. Certainly cooled me down though.
Father has just eaten the most I've seen him eat in weeks,so that's a plus.

Dp1,good to hear she's been sorted, have a great holiday! Gers, you're not having cramp in the night or anything? Wasn't there a spate of this happening to lots of people posting a while ago? Holly, to hear you're out and about, enjoy the seaside! Waves to the missings, hope you're doing as well as you can.
    Winning Wednesday !

    Morning all

Thanks for the thread nmlc and hugs to all those in need.

I've walked Beano, been shopping, and cleaned the old boat, I'm planning on doing nothing for the rest of the day apart from walking Beano, fortunately we are surrounded by grass so it's safe for him to walk on.

    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

  • TAFF I had forgotten about the cramp episodes. Yes there were quite a few of us suffering at one time. I still have the odd bouts but nothing near as bad as I used to. No magic cure sorry, it just happened! If i remember right didn't OL put a bar of soap (was it lavender?) between the sheets to help her DH.

Nowhere near as hot here yet as it was yesterday, thank goodness, but it's forecast to resume with a vengeance tomorrow.

Change of plan with DGDs tonight. Youngest now getting dropped at 4.00 as DD is taking middle one to watch Les Mis at Bradford Alhambra. It's opening night and runs till 10th Aug. I think she is a bit young to appreciate it to be honest and she only seems to want to go because one of her fellow Sunbeams from the Panto seasons has a part!

Meanwhile I have a peaceful couple of hours in store with my book! I could easily find a job to do if I felt so inclined but jobs are on hold till the weather cools down again. xx

    Afternoon all
I had very little sleep last night as it was very humid, but mainly because I was storm watching til 4am :p. The Intracloud lightning was spectacular, but the thunder just rumbled around us and there were strangely no loud clashes :( The rain was disappointing too.... 2 short heavy showers, lasting about 5 mins in total ! Apparently tomorrow will be even hotter....... Scorchio !!!
This morning we did a tip trip and we have taken out a large shrub, ready to replace the fence panels. I've also had to cut my thornless blackberry bush down to the ground, so I am hoping that it will come again next year. I would have removed the whole thing and kept it in a pot, but it's much too hot to try to dig it out . Trust us to pick one of the hottest weeks in the year to start this .
Now I have to clear up the side garden while we await delivery of the new panels, that should keep me amused and out of mischief for a while :rotfl:.

Take care and keep cool everyone.
    nan xx

  • The trip yesterday was rather warm, had to have the aircon on all the time. Outcome the swelling has gone down so Dr thinks its as well to leave it alone. OH has to go back in 6 months. If it swells up again, a phone call to get an earlier appointment. I hate the journey to and from Grantham, its along the A52. Traffic goes along there like bats out of hell.

Lemon fish with mash ans peas for supper tonight, have also made a raspberry jelly for dessert. We will look like rasps by the time we have finished. I have 3 large bags frozen in the freezer.

Baby grand daughter and sil here today as she can't go to the nursery for over 48 hours. SIL is working on his laptop upstairs while I look after madam baby. She was here most of yesterday while her mum had to drive to Scotland for a couple of days and will be here tomorrow, Friday and sometime on Saturday as dds husband, fiance and boyfriend are going to York races.

Me and sil had sausages, new potatoes and petit pois for lunch and a bacon sarnie when he arrives and baby is just about to come downstairs for a nap. Very hot here so might take her into my bedroom which is cooler and read her some books.

    Hugs to all

Just had a delivery from Amazon. 6" foil plates, couldn't get that size anywhere in town.
I always make my own fruit and meat pies, and that size is ideal

Elona, I thought for a moment that your DD was doing well to have a husband, fianc! and boyfriend all going to the races together - very civilised! But thinking about it I think you have more than 1 daughter?
